Thatch panels come with plastic clips to simply attach
onto .25" round
steel- this makes installation a breeze; you can also
staple or nail the panels down.
Calculating Quantities:
Each panel is 31" x 18" x 1". Calculate your total roof surface area
in feet and then divide by 2.5 to estimate how
much you will need. Be sure to include a waste
factor of 7-12%.When
calculating roof surface area, include the pitch
factor as well.
Installation instructions:
Installation is simple, requiring no special skills or tools. A minimum
30 degree pitch is recomended. The pitch is necessary
to allow for water to sheet off the roof and
not trap moisture under the panels. Steeper pitches
increase longevity and maintain the integrity
of the product. The panels are installed in layered
courses at 12” on center, overlapping the
previous run by 5”. Clipped panels can
be installed over ¼” round bar and
plain panels, panels can also be stapled
or nailed to battens or a roofing system. A lattice
of vertical and horizontal pressure-treated furring
strips is recommended to raise the panels off
the roof substrate and allow the panels to breathe.
