Palapa sizes are a rough estimate because of the following. A 7 foot palapa will have a 6 foot diameter frame and we estimate the thatch to overhang the frame by 6 inches on all sides. If you were to measure from one side of the palapa to the other including the thatch you should measure approximately 7 feet. We estimate all of the round Mexican Palm Palapas to have a 1 foot overhang. All our round Mexican Palm Palapas will have a frame 1 foot smaller then the advertised overall size of the palapa.

Our 6 inch diameter poles extend to 2-4 inch diameter round pine rafters. The palm thatch roofing is hand woven Mexican palm thatch rounds that are easy to attach and maintain.

The top of the round Mexican Palm Huts are round and the legs beneath form a square.

The leg spacing is from the center of the leg to the center of an adjacent leg.

Pole spacing has been designed to maximize your space in the shade. The poles have been set to the very outer edge of the roof frame. If you would like to have the pole spacing closer together, in most cased this can be easily changed with no additional customization charges. Basic DIY Installation Instructions

Our 6 inch diameter poles extend to a 2 inch diameter wood frame. The thatching is a synthetic replica of the natural palm thatch normally found on palapas. We've looked long and hard to find the best synthetic thatch. The synthetic thatch looks real, but has the benefit of low maintenance and longevity. Estimate thatch life expectancy is 50 years according to the manufacturer.

FX Lumber Guard XT prevents treated materials from sustaining combustion by penetrating the surface and becoming part of its molecular structure, a protective barrier is created to protect the treated material from igniting. When the material is subjected to a heat source (flames, sparks or embers) the protective barrier is activated, the barrier prevents combustion of the treated material. FX Lumber Guard XT meets ASTM, NFPA, ULC, UL and UBC standards.

FX Lumber Guard XT is transparent, odor free, non-toxic (documented), non-corrosive, non-halogenated, stainable, paintable, environment safe, Chlorine free, Non PBDE’s and Non Bromated Products and has the lowest VOC count in the industry (tested).

The fire retardancy of FX Lumber Guard XT treated lumber or plywood is a permanent application. Protecting the treated material from rotting, overcoating with a wood sealer or paint is recommended.
