	Our Tahiti Tiki Huts are wonderful over spas, BBQ islands, pools, or just for lounging in the shade. If you want to truly vacation at home, purchase a Tahiti Tiki Hut! There's nothing better than to relax in the shade of a palapa. Now you really can vacation at home! Our Tahiti Tiki Huts are also known as; cabanas, grass huts, tiki bars, thatch huts, hales structures, chiki huts, beach huts, fiji huts and island huts. Each Kit Includes High quality Tahiti thatch panels 4 main poles 6" diameter with supporting lumber Partially assembled roof structure Step-by-step instructions All necessary hardware for assembly Our 6 inch diameter poles extend to 2 inch diameter round pine rafters. The roof thatching is hand woven Tahiti thatch panels. The thatch is easy to attach and maintain. The Tahiti Tiki Hut roof frame is round and the 4 posts beneath form a square. Pole spacing has been designed to maximize your space in the shade. The poles have been set to the very outer edge of the roof frame. If you would like to have the pole spacing closer together, in most cased this can be easily changed with no additional customization charges. The pole spacing for the oval Tiki Hut palapas can be changed with some limitations. The width distance can be shortened (see above) but the length can not; unless the whole roof length is changed. General Tools and materials needed for installations: Usually at least 2 people Drill with screwdriver bit Free standing ladder Level Wheelbarrow and shovel (depending on main pole installation method) Cement (depending on main pole installation method) * Sockets and wrench Installation Difficulty: 4 (or 5) out of 5 - This means that this type of palapa is one of the most difficult to set up. Note: Installation difficulty increases proportionally with the size of palapa. Basic Installation Instructions Assemble bottom portion of hut. (shown below) -If installing a palapa into a BBQ island, a palapa stand or some other surface mount, choose the 8' long main poles. This diagram shows the main pole extending approx. 2' below ground level, the standard depth of installation when using concrete footings to anchor your palapa. Pole length does not affect the base price of the palapa. Fire Retardant: Palapa Structures treats each piece of thatch, front and back, according to the manufacturers' specifications. A Certificate of Fire Retardantcy will be issued, if requested. You may present to inspectors when required. According to the lab testing data available the treated thatch archives a classified A rating. Fire retardant adds a clear coating to the thatch, leaving the surface slightly more reflective. It is used in many outdoor applications such as, framing, paneling, corral poles, utility poles, and railroad ties. Cedar is known for it's decay-resistance. The wood is used for purposes requiring resistance to weather, such as roof shingles. Cedar wood also naturally repels insects. If you order the cedar all wood in the order that would normally be pine will be changed to cedar i.e. ribs. Only a very small supply of cedar is kept in our inventory. It may take an additional 4-6 weeks to get a cedar palapa if we need to order more cedar. Please call for availability if you need your palapa promptly. Product ................................... It extends the productive life of lumber by five to ten times. Wood that is exposed to moisture or soil for sustained periods of time will become weakened by various types of fungi, bacteria or insects. Both the light and dark stains provide similar amounts of protection for the wood. Darker color will protect wood better from UV rays. Custom colors available; to order online purchase the dark and contact us right away to change the color. If you select to have the wood treated all the wood will be treated. Twisted sisal rope has proved it's durability over many years by being the rope of choice for many outdoor and indoor applications. Some of the benefits of using this rope are that it resists sunlight, is made of natural fiber, and is biodegradable. The rope is 1/4" and is purely for aesthetic appeal.
